What does the Internet look like? Draw what you think it looks like, share your picture with another student and talk through your ideas.  Websites and pages are created using HTML which is a markup language.  Today your will begin to create your own site.

Edit the window below to create your own site, change the index file to create the page and the CSS file to edit the format, co lours and font types.

CSS stands for Cascading Style Sheet and is used to add formatting to a websie.  You probably tried this last lesson. CSS can also be used to make some cool symbols, like road signs.

Lesson 3 - 6: Creating your own Website with Software


Now that you have developed your understanding of Webpages and how they are created you will begin to create your own website.  This will focus on the layout as presentation is important.  Most websites are used to advertise business and need to stand out and grab your attention.  Even if they my appear bad! Check this out

The software you will use is called Serif Webpage Plus -  the help page is here

At the end of the last lesson you will evaluate each others sides.  There may even be some Easter prizes in the form of chocolate!
